For over 30 years, our core values of Passion, Progressiveness, Professionalism, and Pragmatism have been fundamental to KLM and the way we work. They run through us like a stick of rock and inform everything we do, from high-level strategy and the clients we chose to partner with, to recruitment decisions and HR.
Passion – Fundamentally, we love the work we do. We’re proud of the projects we work on and the impact we can make on communities and the built environment. As a team, we deliver the best results when we are excited and energised by the projects the work on. We are fortunate to be in the position where we only need to work on projects we care about, and that passion is integral to everything we do.
Progressiveness – We are a young, vibrant team with progressive values, open minds, and a willingness to learn and adapt to innovations and market changes. We operate a very flat structure where all ideas are respected and encouraged. We work hard to build an environment where everyone’s views are respected and where all team members are given the space and opportunity to develop and grow.
Professionalism – For over 30 years, we’ve prided ourselves on the integrity, honesty, and professionalism of our conduct. As a leading independent practice, we have no external stakeholders, and we are free from the pressures they can bring. Our partner-led involvement means that the less experienced members of the team are always supported by some grey hair, and clients can be sure that they are always getting the best service possible. We are here for the long-term and know that if we are to succeed for the next 30 years, it will be down to our day-to-day conduct and professionalism.
Pragmatism – We work in a rapidly changing market in one of the world’s most dynamic cities and fundamental to our business is our agility and our ability to adapt. Whether it is pioneering new ways to work internationally as when we founded TIRN in the 1990s or being at the forefront of the evolution of the outlet market, key to our success has been our nimbleness and ability to shift focus as new paradigms emerge. We are flexible in our working practices and human in our approach – we aren’t tied to any corporate systems and take time with every new client to understand the way they work and how we can slot in seamlessly alongside them.
Diversity & Inclusion
KLM Real Estate are committed to the principle of equality, and the promotion of inclusivity and diversity throughout the business.
Treating each other and the communities within which we work with dignity and respect is fundamental to what we do and is a responsibility we take extremely seriously.
We are passionate about empowering all members of our team to express themselves and providing a platform for them to develop to their full potential.
Sustainability
KLM Real Estate are committed to the principle of promoting sustainability and concern for the environment in all our professional activities.
Working in partnership with Carbon Neutral Britain, we support a number of sustainable projects across the UK, including Marston Vale Forest creation, a 61 square mile area between Bedford and Milton Keynes. The scheme is certified by the UK Woodland Carbon Code and has to date, planted over 2 million trees to transform the landscape of Marston Vale; locking up carbon, reducing flooding and helping to cool and clean the air.
We are determined to minimise our environmental impact and are proud to be a certified Carbon Neutral Business.
We recognise that it is an ongoing commitment and in addition to supporting carbon offsetting projects, we have introduced a range of measures to reduce our carbon footprint and promote sustainable work practises. These range from relocating to a B-Corp certified, paper-less office to operating a ‘rail-by-default’ transport policy.
