Hotel Chocolat Founders' New Restaurant Venture in Borough Market

Hotel Chocolat co-founders Angus Thirlwell and Peter Harris have launched, in newly built premises at 2-4 Bedale Street in Borough Market, a 'cocoa cuisine' focused restaurant - Rabot 1745 - named after the cocoa plantation they bought in St Lucia in 2006.

The restaurant operator Rabot Estate has relocated from nearby 2-3 Stoney Street, where it had a shop selling chocolate and cocoa confectionary products together with a coffee shop, and is now on the ground floor of the new premises. The restaurant, on the first floor, will include a terrace overlooking Three Crown Square in the heart of Borough Market.

Rabot Estate signed a 15 year lease at a rental of £160,000 pa with upward only rent reviews at years 5 and 10. The premises total some 3,378 sq ft across 3 floors.

The Trustees of Borough Market, for whom this letting fulfils their criteria of attracting 'unique and special' occupiers, were advised by Kitchen La Frenais Morgan.
