Catalyst Capital has successfully leased a 25,000 sq ft unit to TK Maxx at its Brooks Shopping Centre, Winchester. The store represented a unique opportunity to acquire large space in one of the UK’s most desirable towns.
TK Maxx will trade as a full format store over 2 floors, bringing a considerable boost to the centre’s footfall. The opening will come at the end of a significant refurbishment by Catalyst, which will upgrade and modernise the centre's finishes, lighting, frontages and signage.
The letting to TK Maxx is expected to act as a catalyst for further retail lettings to brands which have been awaiting the outcome of the former Beale’s space. Negotiations are already underway with a number of national names to complement the existing line up which includes HMV, New Look and Primark.
Opportunities for new space ranges from kiosks and shops with mall seating, to large floor space capable of accommodating a gym operator or rooftop restaurant/bar.
Ben Oliver, a retail agent at KLM Retail, commented “the market has been waiting for the TK Maxx deal to finalise and we are now expecting to sign a number of key national multiples in the following months to allow Christmas trade this year."
TK Maxx’s arrival will make a significant difference to the Brooks Shopping Centre, acting as another major anchor tenant to the scheme.
Agents on the centre:
KLM Retail and Colliers International acted for Catalyst. TK Maxx was represented by Morgan Williams.
