Lincolnshire Co-op has appointed KLM Retail as joint agents on its £70 million rejuvenation of the Cornhill Quarter in Lincoln City Centre. KLM Retail will work alongside local agents, Banks Long and Co.
The scheme is already progressing well following completion of phase one, the £12 million refurbishment of the Corn Exchange building. Cosy Club, Moss Bros., Flying Tiger Copenhagen and Thomas Cook are all now trading in the building. Phase two of the redevelopment is also now underway and due for completion before Christmas 2018. This phase of works will provide 23,000 sq ft of retail space, as well as a bright, attractive walkway through to the recently opened 1,000 space multi-storey car park. Lincolnshire Co-op secured planning permission for phase three of the development in late March 2018. This phase will deliver a further 30,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space, with Everyman Cinema already signed up.
The redevelopment has already attracted attention with the £12 million redevelopment of the Corn Exchange being named 'Heritage Project of the Year' at the Greater Lincolnshire Construction and Property Awards in February, and has been shortlisted in the Building Conservation category of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors' (RICS) East Midlands' Awards.
