Q1: Congratulations for receiving your Associate CIPD qualification at Westminster Kingsway College Marney! Can you tell us what was the most challenging aspect of the course?
I would say the most challenging part of the course had to be completing it alongside working full-time and planning a wedding (It's been a busy year!) These commitments meant that I really had to manage any available time very carefully, but it was absolutely worth it!
Q2: How did KLM Retail support you during the course; particularly considering that you are a full time office manager?
When I initially discussed wanting to do the course KLM Retail were really supportive. They offered me the opportunity to attend some of their key meetings, so I was able to gather relevant content for my course assignments.
Q3: What advice do you have for those studying similar qualifications whilst working full-time?
Human Resources is present in what most employees and employers do every day. The best advice I could give, is to consider real practice examples and to keep up to date with relevant press. Applying theory to live examples always worked well for me and I often referenced what was actually happening in the office in the content of my reports.
Q4: What’s next in terms of your professional development?
I am already applying what I have learnt within my course to my daily work. Additionally, supporting some of our high performers in their development is of real interest to me. HR is an ever evolving practise, so I look forward to attending upcoming workshops with the CIPD for continued professional development.
